RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) offers an internship program targeting graduate students or technical college students "KOSEN" (above 4th year) residing in Japan, which is outlined as follows.

As a project that fosters researchers dedicated to HPC (High Performance Computer) technology and computational science, this internship program aims to deepen interns’ understanding of R&D in leading-edge computational science and technology by providing them with an opportunity to work in R-CCS research teams/units.

Internship period	Applicants and hosting research teams/units may set appropriate periods by mutual agreement for a duration of 2 weeks to 1 month between July 25, 2024 and March 21, 2025. Note: Upon prior consultation with the host team/unit, the internship may be extended for up to 2 months.
Venue	Kobe / Tokyo
Qualifications	Graduate students ( Host: Research team, each division), technical college students "KOSEN" ( above 4th year) (Host: Operations and Computer Technologies Division) who reside in Japan and meet one of the following criteria: Applicants must belong to universities/KOSEN which recognize internships at RIKEN on their module system. Applicants must belong to universities/KOSEN whose head or other authorized person can issue a formal letter of request on behalf of applicants.

Application	Term 1:[Application deadline] Monday,May 20, 2024 at noon Graduate students (Host: Research team, each division) up to 15 students Technical college students “KOSEN” (above 4th year/Host: Operations and Computer Technologies Division) up to 10 students Internship will begin from Thursday, July 25 (from Monday, August 26 for international students) at the earliest. Term 2:[Application deadline] Monday, July 1, 2024 at noon Graduate students (Host: Research team, each division) up to 15 students Technical college students “KOSEN” (above 4th year/Host: Operations and Computer Technologies Division) up to 10 students Internship will begin from Monday, August 26 (from Thursday, September 26 for international students) at the earliest. Term 3: Depending on the number of applications and positions filled in the first and second terms, we will consider additional application periods or accept applications on an as-needed basis.
