International HPC Summer School 2026

The RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) is calling for applications to attend the International HPC Summer School 2026 which R-CCS will be co-hosting with other research institutes in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. From Japan, we plan to accept approximately 10 young researchers, including graduate students or early-career researchers (such as postdoctoral fellows) affiliated with Japanese universities or research institutions.

Location Perth, Australia
Eligibility Graduate students or early-career researchers (e.g., postdoctoral researchers) affiliated with Japanese universities or research institutions (at the time of the school in July 2026)
Note: Approximately 10 successful applicants will be invited from Japan.
Applicants must belong to universities whose head or the delegated person can issue a formal letter of request on behalf of applicants in FY2026.

Events Leading computational scientists and HPC technologists from partner regions will offer instruction in parallel sessions on a variety of topics such as:
  • HPC and Big Data Challenges in Major Scientific Disciplines
  • Shared-memory programming
  • Distributed-memory programming
  • GPU programming
  • Performance analysis and optimization on modern CPUs and GPUs
  • Software engineering
  • Numerical libraries
  • Big Data analytics
  • Deep learning
  • Scientific visualization
  • Australian, Canadian, European, Japanese and U.S. HPC infrastructures
Fees (Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by R-CCS.)
