Members of the French President’s official delegation visit Wako Campus

As members of the official delegation accompanying President Macron during his official visit to Japan, French Ambassador for AI and Digital Affairs Clara Chappaz and CNRS Research Professor Emeritus Alain Aspect (2022 Nobel laureate in Physics) visited RIKEN’s Wako Campus on April 1, accompanied by French Embassy staff. Following an initial meeting with President Gonokami, RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing Director Yasunobu Nakamura, and Team Director of the RIKEN Center for Advanced Photonics Hidetoshi Katori, during which they discussed collaboration between RIKEN and France in areas including AI and quantum technology, the delegation was given tours of Dr. Nakamura and Dr. Katori’s laboratories.
