Research Summary

Tomohisa Okada

We provide technical assistance and engages in research and development for non-invasive experiments for humans and animals using 7 Tesla and 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems. We also offer a “Commissioned Test” service to external parties. The MRI measurements include functional MRI, structural imaging including DTI and QSM, and MRS for measuring neurochemicals like glutamate and GABA. Additionally, various stimulus presentation devices (projectors, earphones, electrical stimulators, etc.) are available, and we can record participants’ responses and physiological states, such as button-press responses, heart rate, respiration, pupil diameter, eye movement, etc.

For companies and researchers outside of RIKEN

For researchers from outside RIKEN, even those without collaborative research with RIKEN CBS researchers, MRI experiments can be performed through TRIP (Transformative Research Innovation Platform) platform. For more details, please refer to the following website:
