RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science Molecular Materials Synthesis Research Unit

Unit Leader: Midori Akiyama (Ph.D.)

Research Summary

Midori Akiyama

We aim to create novel molecular materials based on original synthetic methodologies and to uncover new functionalities. Our current research focuses on fluorinated compounds, with particular emphasis on developing synthetic methods for both small molecules and polymers using fluorine gas. Through these efforts, we seek to explore previously uncharted chemical space.
