JAPAN SCIENTIST AI JAM SESSION 2026 is a hands-on event designed to explore new possibilities for scientific research through the use of cutting-edge AI technologies in real-world research settings.

With the support of AWS, Anthropic, Google, NVIDIA, OpenAI, researchers from a wide range of fields will bring their own research challenges and explore, through trial and error, how to make effective use of advanced AI technologies such as generative AI, multimodal AI, and AI agents. JAPAN SCIENTIST AI JAM SESSION 2026 is a forum for collectively envisioning and putting into practice a future in which AI is used not merely as a tool for supporting research tasks, but as a collaborative research partner that accelerates scientific discovery.

If you apply for both, we may need to make adjustments.
Fee	Free * If you would like lunch, please apply in advance. We will prepare a lunch box, so please pay in cash on the day of the event.
Eligibility	Open to all scientists. Including research management, research communication, graduate students, andURAs. Participants from last year are also welcome to apply. In order to prioritize those whose research aligns with the purpose of the event, the organizers will screen applications after advance registration. If there is a large number of applicants, participants will be selected by lottery regardless of their research theme. Please note that the details of the screening and lottery process cannot be disclosed.
Notes (Conditions for Participation)	Since this event involves providing information to U.S. companies, RIKEN members must undergo a security export control screening to participate. Security export control applications can be submitted collectively by researchteams. Non-RIKEN members should follow the rules of their affiliated institutions. Models provided by AI companies contain some non-public information. *Non-RIKEN members will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement withRIKEN. You will be required to submit the prompts/data used at a later date.
