RIKEN R-CCS collaborates with Singapore on hybrid quantum-classical computing

The RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) and Singapore's National Quantum Computing Hub (NQCH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on hybrid quantum-high-performance computing (HPC) platforms.

The collaboration brings together RIKEN’s HPC capabilities with Singapore’s strengths in hybrid quantum-classical computing, middleware development, and quantum applications, supporting the development of hybrid platforms for complex computational challenges.

Hybrid approaches are gaining traction globally, harnessing the potential of quantum for fields such as chemistry, materials science, and fluid dynamics.

The MoU was signed at the 8th R-CCS International Symposium in Osaka, Japan, as a co-located event of SCA/HPCAsia 2026, the partners will collaborate in quantum-HPC hybrid platform development and applications research. For more information, see the NQCH website.
