Research Summary
With the accumulation of patient genomic information related to diseases, elucidating the relationship between genomes and diseases using animal models plays a crucial role in preclinical research and drug discovery. This unit utilizes genome editing technology to generate genetically modified mice and conducts detailed phenotyping in vivo to validate disease relevance and assess the effectiveness of drug targets. Furthermore, we refine genome editing and phenotypic analysis techniques to develop humanized disease model mice that contribute to the advancement of personalized medicine, including antibody and nucleic acid therapies.
